HUMAN SATELLITE
Recorded during: The Red Hot Chili Peppers sessions.
Length: unknown
Performers: Anthony Kiedis (vocals), Flea (bass), Cliff Martinez (drums), Jack Sherman (guitars).
Never performed live.
This track was an attempt at a “commercial” song, but was met with scorn from the band, who said it was “dreadful”, and was abandoned fairly early on. Jack Sherman said it was “rhythmically stiff” and never felt natural.
Even though the track was never released, a BMI repertoire listing exists for it, meaning that a copyright was registered at some point. It may have been considered for release in 2003, during the EMI remasters campaign, but Jack Sherman also couldn’t remember if the track was ever completed.
