NOTES:

Originally known as “Fairfax High”, this track was adapted from a marching-band chant from Flea and Anthony’s high school years, and is about Lakers legend Magic Johnson. Johnson was the NBA “MVP” during the year that the song was recorded, though the Lakers were runners-up in the ‘88 finals. The track also references players Byron Scott, A.C. Green, and James Worthy.

The song was most likely intended as a part of a duo of Laker-centric tracks alongside Salute to Kareem, but the latter track was ultimately left off the record.

It’s not clear where the crowd sounds are sourced from, but they may well be from an actual Lakers game.
